Sony Ericsson F305

Today’s announcement sees Sony Ericsson putting gaming at the heart of its latest phone release. Targeted firmly at a youth audience, the F305 with Motion Gaming lets users control games with the flick of a wrist or the swing of an arm, and then see the results straightaway on the screen. Using advanced motion sensor technology, the phone can, for example, follow your actions to imitate bowling or casting a fishing line.

With the F305 your favourite game is only one-click away. Enjoy the full gaming experience with stereo speakers, which also come in handy for sharing the latest track on the media player. Add a 2.0” screen into this pocket-sized slider phone and the F305 takes playing games on your mobile to a whole new level.

“Gaming is no longer something you do on your own. It’s about having fun with your friends and interacting with the game” says Sven Totté, Head of Product Marketing at Sony Ericsson. “We have used motion sensor technology before in our phones and integrating it into gameplay is a natural progression.”

To complement the F305 there is also now a handy new accessory available for the serious gamer. Although the F305 gives you up to 8 hours of gameplay, there is always now a back-up with the Power Pack CPP-100. Attach it to your keyring and when you need it, simply plug it into the phone to receive an instant battery power boost.

The F305 is about more than just gaming. Slide it open and find it packed with the latest Sony Ericsson features. Never miss a fun or unexpected moment with the phones 2.0 megapixel camera. Share your photos or music with friends via Bluetooth™ or Memory Stick Micro™ (M2™). It will also be possible to change the look of your phone with Style-up™ covers – two covers to choose from in box.

Sony Ericsson W660i

The W660i is a great looker. It has a classic design, with lovely curves, and is available in two distinctive colour schemes: black or rose red. The phone is slim (but not superslim) and is a good size and weight to hold. The W660i has an easy-to-use navigation key and has nicely-sized tactile keys, which is a relief after so many recent Sony Ericsson phones have suffered from clunky joysticks or small keys - Sony Ericsson haven't put a foot wrong with the W660i in terms of design. The display is a good size and, whilst not as high in resolution as the W880i or K810i, is typical for this price range.

The W660i has a good quality 2 megapixel camera and a video recording option. It can't compete with the camera on the high-end K810i, and is missing autofocus and a camera light. Being 3G, it also supports video calling.

Naturally the W660i is equipped with the latest Walkman® player 2.0 and is an excellent music phone. Audio quality is excellent, you can easily control the music player, creating your own playlists on the move, and you can now view original album art on the screen as the music plays. Interfacing with a PC is very straightforward: using the USB mass storage interface you can simply drag and drop music (and other media) from the PC to the phone. The memory capacity of the phone is not as large as we'd have liked - onboard memory is just 16 Mbytes, which is enough for just a few MP3 tracks, so you'll definitely need a memory card to make full use of the phone. Memory cards of up to 1 Gybte are supported (2 Gbytes using a special adapter). We should also mention that an FM radio is included.

Connectivity via USB and wireless Bluetooth is supported, including support for a stereo Bluetooth headset, but there's no support for infrared. With 3G the phone is permanently connected to the internet, and the phone can handle web browsing, RSS feeds and picture blogging. Push email is also supported.

In conclusion, the W660i is a great phone. It has everything that the W610i has to offer (except for the camera), but with the benefits of 3G and a more conventional keypad.

Coming in Record Black and Rose Red colors with a cool tactile finish, Sony Ericsson W660 has the looks and all the features 3G phone has to have.

SE W660i Walkman is a UMTS 2100 and GPRS 900/1800/1900 candybar handset with 2 megapixel imaging and VGA video telephony cameras, Memory Stick Micro (up to 1GB) memory card slot, Bluetooth 2.0 and USB 2.0 connectivity, full HTML browser, RSS reader and picture blogging capability.

And, of course, SE W660 Walkman Phone is optimized for music. It comes with Walkman Player and Disc2Phone software, support for Album Art, dedicated music navigation keys, FM Radio and TrackID feature that helps you identify music tracks from short recorded sound snippets.

Play-as-you-go
With life being ever more hectic, it's essential to be able to slow down the pace and take time out, whenever you get the chance. The T303 comes with a built-in FM radio, meaning you can tune in, chill out, and let time just pass you by. It also has its own media player and comes preloaded with Sony Ericsson's TrackID™ feature. Record a clip of a song in a bar or café and find out instantly what track it is and who sings it.

With such a good-looking phone, you'll want to keep it that way. The Protective Case IDC-22, part of Sony Ericsson's Design Collection, gives you the opportunity to develop your stylish look still further. Not only will it help keep your phone looking good, but it also has room for all of those essentials...your credit cards, keys and your T303.

The Sony Ericsson T303 will offer designer good-looks without the price tag to match. The T303/T303c is a GSM/GPRS 900/1800/1900 phone that will be available in selected markets from mid 2008.

The T303a is a GSM/GPRS 850/1800/1900 phone that will also be available in selected markets from mid 2008.

Although Sony Ericsson is going around referring to the newly revealed T303 slider as a fashion phone, it doesn't exactly bring anything new in the design department. Instead, because of its T-series branding, the T303 looks an entry-level phone that would have originally launched in 1999 or something. On the plus side, the Sony Ericsson T303 is probably one of the more compact handsets on the market, boasting quite the small and pocketable form factor. The screen is mirrored and the rest of the body is made of metal with chrome highlights. This gives it a touch of sophistication over its plastic counterparts. In terms of features, you get a 1.3 megapixel camera, Bluetooth, media player, FM radio and TrackID. There will be at least three variants of this phone. The T303 and T303c will come with GSM/GPRS 900/1800/1900 whereas the North America-friendly T303a comes with a quad-band GSM/GPRS radio. Look for the SE T303 to ship in mid-2008.
